Chacaiosaurus was a genus of Stenopterygiidae ichthyosaur from the Bajocian stage of the Middle Jurassic. Fossils indicate that it lived in what is today Argentina. Like most ichthyosaurs, Chacaiosaurus had a dauphin shaped body with a long, narrow snout. This genus also had had a prominent dorsal fin and a shark-like caudal fin. Chacaiosaurus, like its closest relative Stenopterygiust, was probably viviparous, meaning it gave live birth.
